Kevin And Don Respond To Being Self Loathing

Looking back at their journey from the Stonewall Democratic Club to Log Cabin Republicans, they claim it was one that was actually started by the democrats. After being told that marriage as not a priority on the agenda in 1995, they became disillusioned with the DEMS. For a decade they felt like they did not belong until they met the republicans of the Log Cabin Republican Club and discovered they too shared a dream of marriage equality. This blog is now a digital time capsule of their time as Republicans and moderated by a friend and supporter.

“If Romney's pledge against marriage is a lie, how can Log Cabin endorse a liar? On November 20th the Supreme Court is expected to announce whether they will hear any of the marriage cases. The Department of Justice, under President Obama, has dropped any opposition to having DOMA declared unconstitutional. If Romney is elected my husband and myself firmly believe Romeny will inform the Court that he intends to support DOMA in any constitutional challenge that is heard by the Court.
We do not understand the logic of Log Cabin Republicans. We did at one time but that was under a different leadership. Their statement on the issue boggles the mind. “In our judgment, the pledge [against gay marriage] is ultimately merely symbolic and thus should not be the basis of a decision to withhold an endorsement from an otherwise qualified candidate, particularly given the gravity of the economic and national security issues currently at stake.”
I agree with Cooper that "times have changed" but there is no credible evidence that Romney has. To quote Sammon from 2007 "You just don't know what he really believes. I believe that is still true because there is no evidence to the contrary. Yes, times have changed but it is Log Cabin that has changed (not Romney) and I no longer believe that Log Cabin represents my family's interests in marriage equality. #LCRfail”
