Kevin And Don Respond To Being Self Loathing

Looking back at their journey from the Stonewall Democratic Club to Log Cabin Republicans, they claim it was one that was actually started by the democrats. After being told that marriage as not a priority on the agenda in 1995, they became disillusioned with the DEMS. For a decade they felt like they did not belong until they met the republicans of the Log Cabin Republican Club and discovered they too shared a dream of marriage equality. This blog is now a digital time capsule of their time as Republicans and moderated by a friend and supporter.

Don't Kiss Them They're LGBT: How America Denies Equal Protection To Social Conventions & Customs

It is Saint Patrick's Day today and does America have to be so supportive of the most anti lgbt holiday of the year?
Why does corporate america have to support the parade? It is not an irish american holiday. I see it as an anti lgbt holliday that is supported by american businesses from McDonalds to almost every bar around.
I am not talking about private celebrations or even the parade itself. But the advertising and corporate support for the message of Saitn Partick offends me. If you think I am too emotional, well my emotions are based in reality.
Equal Protection should entitled us to equal emotions, equal social conventions, and equal social norms.
Not being included in another parade is one thing but business participation including media coverage is offensve. Corporate america's sanction of this type of discrimination and harassment is morally wrong. I am not allowed to feel equal on this day. I am, by corporate america standards and social norms, supposed to accept my second tier status because it is based on religion. Well corpoirate america promotes it with the wearing of the green and to me, Saint Patrrick Days represents the day of the wearing of the shame and it is not acceptable.

The lgbt community is kept out of social norms and social customs on a routine basis. Look at Indiana. The Buruau of Motor Vehicles is now preventing a lgbt charaity for issuing vanity plates because it gave out lower numbers based on the amount of the donation. Two other charities were alo caught doing this. But it is a pretextual basis to claim breach of contract. The term was waived and not enforced for charities for a long time. After the lgbt plates were issued, there were complaints about the gay plates, and the state claimed breach of contract and also booted two others from the program just to show that it was not a sham. Well it is a sham. Others still issue plates based on the amount of the donation. But the lgbt group was charged with a breach of a term that is not enforeced because of the complaints. In order to not look that bad, the state revoked the licenes from two others too. Nevertheless, it is pretextual because one can still get plates the same way but for socially approved charities. And we are denied equal protection when it comes to social conventions and norms.

I am used to this. I am fortunate enought to have taken marriage vows. Rick Santorum wants to retroactively revoke my vows and treat them like they never occurred. That is frightening. We are entitled to equal emotions and it is disgusting how so many people behave on this issue.
