Kevin And Don Respond To Being Self Loathing

Looking back at their journey from the Stonewall Democratic Club to Log Cabin Republicans, they claim it was one that was actually started by the democrats. After being told that marriage as not a priority on the agenda in 1995, they became disillusioned with the DEMS. For a decade they felt like they did not belong until they met the republicans of the Log Cabin Republican Club and discovered they too shared a dream of marriage equality. This blog is now a digital time capsule of their time as Republicans and moderated by a friend and supporter.

The Faces of Times Square It's not about me but about US VOTE Daily

We have entered the contest of a lifetime and need your help.
The big picture is about all of us. Make Times Square our home page
KevinAndDon's beautiful provocative defiant NOH8 photograph by acclaimed photographer Adam Bouska can be the new face of a Times Square billboard. Here's how to make it happen:VOTE DAILY HERE
OUR BACKSTORY Futurists? Trendsetters? Troublemakers? Imagine what it is like to fall in love for the first time when you are sixteen and more than 33 years later, the love is still there. It is our story. A real story set about falling in love right before Harvey Milk is assassinated and AIDS becomes a household word.  The world that looks bleak to our panicked parents feels okay because you have made a pact to succeed.  You are aware that the love you feel for each other can and will allow you to escape your destiny. You inherently believe that you can be the change you want to see in the world.  Your dream is to get married someday.  You maintain that dream even when laughed at. Once in 1995 before DOMA, the Los Angeles Times called the City of West Hollywood receptionist and asked if they knew a couple in love and that would probably fly to Hawaii.  You make headlines but there is a reaction in Washington you did not anticipate.  Talks of protecting marriage and the rise of DOMA.  You become Gay Marriage Suffragists and hope your cause will become irrelevant.  You take on the California anti-gay marriage initiative, PROPOSITION 8 and fight it anyway you know how.  In the end you know there will be victory.  A dream you took from Harvey Milk when you were sixteen.  You are in love and there is nothing like it.  You call it Half Moon Love.  It cannot be simply described in words. However that love allows you to see the world with two sets of eyes thinking as one. With that ability we have been able to see the passing years in unique ways. It is an adventure of a life time. We are preparing for tomorrow by listening to today. It is dark out there but love will see us through.
