Dear Kevin,
This fall, we're facing an uphill battle: those who oppose the dignity of our love and relationships are determined to deny us the fundamental freedom, fairness and equality we have worked so hard to achieve. A loss this November would mean a major setback for LGBT rights in our state -- that's why it's so important that we come together to fight for the fundamental freedom to marry. Today is an amazing day for all of us who have fought for equality for all. Help us celebrate by making a contribution now!
The day has arrived. Today, gay and lesbian couples will be able to marry in California and celebrate this joyous occasion with the person they love. This is a critical moment in our fight to preserve the right for all Californians to marry -- a right that shouldn't be denied to any two people in a committed, trusting and loving relationship.
But while we celebrate this momentous day, our opponents are getting ready to pass a statewide ballot initiative intended to ban marriage for gay and lesbian couples. We can't let that happen.
Our movement to defeat this November's ballot initiative is growing every day. Already, close to 5,000 people have "Vowed to Vote No" on the initiative, and many more have created their own wedding registry to celebrate their wedding and defeat this November's initiative.
Then, if you happen to be planning your own wedding day, click here to create a wedding registry to celebrate. Using Equality For All's online tools, you'll be able to invite your friends and family to contribute through your own personal page while you keep track of your progress online.
