Kevin And Don Respond To Being Self Loathing
It is important for today's lgbt youth to respect and love themselves because internalized homophobia is a contributing factor to HIV infection and transmission in men who have sex with men. Medical Studies show a true correlation between self loathing and HIV infection and transmission. If the youth of today and tomorrow want to be healthy, it starts with self respect and not slanderous false name calling because some people chose to live honest, open, and healthy lives from age 16 and found support for their views in a political party. We do not care what you think of us but do not confuse and mislead the youth of today by ignoring the true self loathing that exists in the gay community today with political disputes.

It looks like not all members of the Log Cabin Republicans are willing to fall in line behind the group's endorsement of a vehemently anti-gay candidate.
California couple and longtime LCR members Kevin and Don Norte have resigned from the organization following the group's endorsement of Mitt Romney.
More after the jump.
The Huffington Post reports that on Oct. 25, the couple tweeted from their shared Twitter account: "@LogCabinGOP Please accept our resignation from #LogCabin effective immediately."
Kevin, a Los Angeles attorney, notes that their departure isn't easy, saying, "Leaving them is kind of like a divorce."
Both Kevin and Don, who was appointed by former Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to the Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities, would have been fine with the LCR simply declining to endorse a Presidential candidate, which the group did in 2004.
Kevin explains, "There's a difference between acceptance and endorsing. There's a difference between tolerating and acceptance. They're all degrees. Romney's on the point of tolerating us; he doesn't advance us in the world. And then everyone's so happy when people see a sign that he doesn't say anything negative. But he signed the National Organization for Marriage pledge last year, and he didn't retract it."
That NOM pledge comes with anti-gay promises that could devastate our community for generations. By signing the pledge, Romny promised to support a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage and to appoint justices to the Supreme Court that oppose same-sex marriage.
Kevin continues: "If we have Romney in office, he'll get the Department of Justice to keep DOMA upheld. Obama's position is to the contrary. I can't support somebody who wants to destroy my family."
Don agrees: "I'm at a point where I just can't put myself with [the LCR] anymore because of what their positions are on marriage. They act like it's not important anymore."
Kevin continues, saying, "You have to always be on the attack in the world. I don't need people on our side not helping our fight. I can't be around those people anymore.
"There's a rift between California Republicans and the rest of the country. We're the party of Arnold Schwarzenegger in California. We're different. But in California, we think that because we're so big, we can change the rest of the country. That's what people always say, but that's not always true. ... I feel like we failed."
The Nortes have not decided who they'll be voting for next week.
No tea, no shade, we do sympathize with the couple. It must hurt to have a group that you've affiliated yourself with and committed to make the choice to endorse someone that works so directly against your interests.
Still, we're happy that they saw the light. Do you think other LCR members are having similar misgivings, Instincters?
